Oldham win opening game

PLAYER of the match Lucy Stevenson and Taylor Cullen made their debuts as Oldham beat Bury 65-46 in their opening North-West Netball League fixture of the season.
After a slow first quarter, Oldham started to settle into their game and made it 32-23 by the halfway stage. Coach Suzy Chapman made several changes and most worked as Oldham extended their lead in the next two quarters to a final margin of 19 points.
Chapman said: “I was really pleased with the team’s performance.
“I thought Lucy was very strong and had a superb first game for the squad, and it was great to see Taylor play for Oldham. I am really excited for this season.”
