SNOOKER:
TONY ‘The Tornado’ Drago made a whirlwind visit to the Oldham Snooker Academy at Osborne Mill.
The former top-10 world-ranked player took on some of the town’s hottest young prospects as well as several more established names. Drago (49) also played American Pool against members of the Vision Youth Group.
“Tony played 11 frames of snooker and won all but one,” said academy owner Mohammed Nisar.
“He stayed for an hour afterwards to sign autographs and chat to people. He went down really well.”
Also in attendance was the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Fida Hussain and Cllr Dr Zahid Chauhan.
