THE L and C’s inter-league team are the new holders of the Jeff Walton Memorial Trophy.
FOOTBALL: AFC OLDHAM secured a terrific 6-2 win against Mellor in the Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division.
But the news wasn’t as encouraging in Division One as Santos were thumped 10-3 at Signol Athletic.
Meanwhile, the L and C’s inter-league team are the new holders of the Jeff Walton Memorial Trophy. The competition was renamed from the North-West Inter-League Cup last season following the passing of the Cheshire League chairman Jeff Walton.
The L and C beat the Cheshire League 3-0 in the final at Warrington Town FC. On target were Liam Bennion (Whalley Range), Jimmy Moran (Old Ashtonians) and AFC Oldham’s Callum Franklin.
