Joe Eko: Boarshaw hopeful
Boxing:
OLDHAM 69kg prospect Joe Eko has battled his way through to the ABA National Novice quarter-finals.
The 20-year-old Boarshaw Gym hopeful secured three unanimous points decisions to book a North-West regional final clash against Seacombe ABC’s Lewis Mullineux in Croxteth.
Despite fighting in Mullineux’s back yard, Eko boxed superbly to secure a split-decision victory against an opponent unbeaten in eight bouts.
Eko now heads to the Novice quarter-finals this weekend at the Walkden Sports College in Salford.
