CHAMPIONS Glodwick have been handed a tough draw in next year’s LCB Cup.
The Warren Lane oufit, who stormed to their first Saddleworth and District Cricket League title in September, go to Westhoughton of the Bolton League, in round one.
Runners-up Saddleworth have a home tie as they welcome Lancashire County League side Denton West to Well-i-Hole.
Stayley’s reward for finishing in the top five is a challenging trip to Bootle (Liverpool Competition), while Uppermill host East Lancs Paper Mill, which is sure to rekindle memories of previous meetings.
East Lancs had two spells in the Saddleworth League, from 1973 to 1980 and 1985 to 1990.
They now ply their trade in the North Manchester League alongside Failsworth Macedonia, who hit the road to Northern (Liverpool Competition).
Moorside have received bye into round two, where they will face either St Anne’s (Northern League) or Garstang (Palace Shield) away.
Royton, from the Lake Garage Central Lancashire League, lock horns with familiar rivals Heywood at Crimble.
First-round ties must be played on or before Sunday, May 24.
