NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY joint-boss Peter Band is relishing the prospect of going head-to-head with big-spending Warrington Town in the FA Trophy tomorrow.
The Lilywhites won their third game in a row on Tuesday and moved to seventh place in the Evo-Stik League Division One North table. But now attention switches to knock-out football for a squad which Band says is ‘buzzing’.
He said: “The lads are so confident at the moment, so we’ll go to Warrington looking to get a positive result. League-wise they’re a bit further down our division, but they have got a few games in hand.
“We’ve got a good chance at Warrington if we stick to our quick and fast pressing game. That approach is suiting us right now.”
Warrington will feature ex-Lilywhite hit-man Steve Foster in their team tomorrow, though he has only scored once since his move from Seel Park in August.
CHADDERTON have struggled of late in the North-West Counties League First Division.
They have slid down the table at an alarming rate since an encouraging start, and face another tough test tomorrow when they travel to third-placed Hanley Town.
OLDHAM BORO are also in a predicament at present, and still prop up the First Division table having won just once in the league all season. They host 10th-placed Widnes at Seel Park.
All the above matches kick-off at 3pm.
