GOLF:
STEVE Asquith and Sean Mooney teamed up for a terrific win in Saddleworth’s Captain’s Charity Day competition.
The successful pair recorded 45 points in the Stableford format.
Lee Tilley and Rob Norbury were a point adrift in second place, with John Davis and Mike Shore (42) in third.
The competition, which preceded the club’s annual presentation evening, raised £1,700 for the captain’s charity, the Benjamin Maly Cardiac Fund.
LINDA Kenworthy won a two-ball Stableford at Saddleworth with a score of 34 points. Runner-up was Denise Brown with 31.
Over at Blackley, S Garrity was successful in a nine-hole Stableford with 17 points.
S Oldham took the runner-up spot with 16 points following a card play-off with J Stroud. D Barber was fourth with 15 points.
