SNOOKER: NORTH Chadd ‘A’ have shown they mean business in the race for the Oldham Amateur Snooker League title.
In a top-of-the-table clash against Chadderton Reform, they swept to a 5-1 victory to open a three-point lead.
A break of 41 from T Hussain clinched frame two for Three Cs ‘A’ at home to Stanley Road ‘A’ — but the latter bagged the next three to record a 4-2 success against the reigning champions.
Reece Kershaw’s break of 40 proved too much for H Hall as Blue Club ‘A’ recorded a 5-1 home victory againt Three Cs ‘B’.
Gary Winterbottom’s break of 30 in the final frame for Deaf ‘A’ avoided a whitewash at Stanley Road ‘B’.
Elsewhere, Royton Band’s 6-0 thumping of North Chadd ‘B’ saw them climb to joint third place.
North Chadd ‘B’ may have failed to put a frame on the board in the snooker division — but their 3-1 win against title rivals Royton Band in the cards section saw them take over at the top.
