Four-star display

GOLF: A HAUL of 94 points was the winning total for Graham Pendleton, Wayne Adamson, Frank Lawrence and Jack Roberts in a four-man Stableford team event at Oldham.

The runners-up on 92 points were Andy Milner, Jonathan Phillips, Brett Worrall and Paul Donlan.

The first two teams were a long way clear of the third-placed quartet of Alan Daubney, Steve Daubney, Steve Warburton and Danny Marland, who registered 85 points.

In a four-ball better-ball Stableford competition on the Lees New Road course, Geoff Proctor and Mark Furnival recorded 45 points to claim top honours.

Peter Doolan and Damion Chadwick (41) were second-best on a card play-off from Stuart Wagstaffe and Wayne Adamson.
