NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY were sent tumbling out of the Evo-Stik League Doodson Cup last night.
Hosting Division One North rivals Northwich Victoria, the Lilywhites crashed 5-1.
Substitute Brian Matthews scored a consolation goal for the hosts in the 89th minute.
Mossley return to league action on Saturday when they host Brighouse Town.
Oldham Boro are in action tonight, when they host Rochdale Town in a North-West Counties League First Division Cup first-round tie. The match at Seel Park kicks-off at 7.45pm.
Chadderton have been reinstated in the FA Vase, following the removal of Dronfield Town from the competition. The Northern Counties East League club beat Chaddy 2-1 in a Vase first- round tie on November 1, but it has since emerged that they fielded an ineligible player.
Dronfield will now forfeit the prize fund payment for winning the game, which will be awarded to Chadderton, and the Broadway outfit will now take their place in the second round of the Vase and play away to AFC Darwen on November 22.
Chadderton’s next game is a league trip to Wigan Robin Park on Saturday.
