Boro’s Lee Bancroft goes on a run against Rochdale Town.
FOOTBALL:
OLDHAM Boro had a welcome boost last night when they beat Rochdale Town 3-2 in the North-West Counties League Reusch First Division Cup.
Boro shrugged off their league woes as they surged into a two-goal half-time lead at Seel Park, thanks to strikes from Adam Owens and Hayden Foulds.
Rochdale struck back to level after the break and it was left to Reece Hardy to bag Boro’s much-needed winner four minutes from time.
Rock-bottom Boro return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Ashton Town.
Meanwhile, the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League representative side lost 3-2 to their Stockport counterparts at Chadderton FC last night in the Three Counties Inter-League competition.
