Boxing: STUBBY’S Gym prospect Liam Molden made a perfect big fight debut when he won a tough three-round contest in fine style.
Delph-based Molden took on home fighter Ben Stott at the Halifax Star Boxing Club’s base, and promptly won all three rounds to take a well-deserved points victory.
Sixteen-year-old student Molden was fighting in the 70kg category, and was nervous ahead of his first appearance.
But his trainer, Darren Stubbs, was delighted with his young fighter’s performance: “Liam won all three rounds. He was excellent on the night. It was a bit of an intimidating atmosphere for him, but I just told him he needed to use that in a positive way. He did, and it worked a treat. It was a terrific debut.”
