Merger talks in the New Year

LAKE Garage CLL delegates have been briefed over the possible future direction of their clubs.
A meeting at Unsworth CC on Saturday morning saw 14 of the 18 league clubs attend and hear officials outline progress over a proposed merger with the Lancashire League and plans to form a pyramid structure of clubs across Greater Manchester.
The meeting heard that the merger talks, featuring three officials from both leagues, will take place on January 14, 2015.
More immediately, the new steering committee of two delegates from the CLL, Saddleworth League, Bolton League, Bolton Association, Lancashire County League and North Manchester League will meet on Friday to discuss options for a new Greater Manchester set-up.
The CLL will be represented by league chairman and vice-chairman Neville Fletcher and Colin Jackson.
