ORGANISER and venue expert Dave Machin won the Diggle AC match on Tanners Dam.
It was a decent affair, with Machin topping the weights using the pole and pellet for two carp and some skimmers which together weighed 13lb 4oz.
Geoff Dawson, the runner-up, boasted a 12lb 2oz net featuring one carp and some skimmers on the long pole and maggot.
IN contrast, it was hard going in the Border Fisheries open match as only five caught and the winner, Kevin Tulson, landed just three chub on pellet down the edge for 3lb 4oz.
Second-placed Ian Shaw had three little stockie carp for 1lb 12oz and Dave Holland (Tri-Cast Highfield) had a single f1 of 14oz for third place.
DAVE Ireland topped the first of the Twingates AC Winter League matches on the club waters.
However, the drop in temperatures had a major impact on weights as the Tight Lines rod needed just two small carp on chopped worm and caster at nine metres for a match-winning 2lb 2oz.
Mark Darbyshire, also of Tight Lines, landed one carp and one perch to weigh 1lb 3oz for second spot.
TWINGATES AC staged their latest OAP match on the club waters and again the hard frosts hit weights hard, with George White requiring just 2lb 14oz to claim top spot.
Organiser Geoff Carr had only 9oz for second place.
