THE Glodwick club continue to dominate the title race in Division One of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League.
Six points separate the ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams, with the latter holding sway after an 8-2 defeat of Birley Moss.
But the ‘A’ side have narrowed the gap thanks to a 10-0 defeat of Rosehill.
Honeywell ‘A’ have benefited from the return of Darryl Meredith. He has been unbeaten as his team have completed back-to-back victories.
In Division Two, Honeywell ‘D’ posted a 6-4 success in a keenly-fought contest with Stanley Square.
Peter Buckley, of Honeywell, was man-of-the-match, although team-mate Brian Higgins, and Stanley pair Steve Mather and Glen Chadwick also had two wins apiece.
Hollinwood ‘B’ have taken a backward step in the quest for top honours recently, and after losing Uppermill ‘A’ in their previous encounter, they could only manage a 5-5 draw with Coldhurst ‘A’.
In-form Simon King scored a maximum and then combined with Wayne Carter to bag the doubles for Coldhurst.
