FOOTBALL: THE poor weather wiped out the majority of fixtures in the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
In the Premier Division, Mellor missed a chance to move into second place as they shared eight goals with Bedians.
The sharper finishing skills of AFC Oldham gave them the edge in a 2-0 win at Parrs Wood Celtic, with Dom Hallam and Andy Stafford providing the goals.
The other game saw Moston Brook win by the odd goal in three, hosting Newton.
Division One leaders Abacus Media won their local derby against Bury Ams 5-3, while a close contest saw Burnage Metro win 3-2 at Santos.
ROYTON Town hit the goal trail when they thumped Wythenshawe Amateurs 6-3 in the FBT Manchester League Premier Division.
The three points lifted Town above neighbours Springhead into ninth place in the table.
The only other local action came in Division Two, and it was derby day at Chapel Road as
visitors Royton Town reserves defeated their Hollinwood counterparts 2-0.
Springhead are in Gilgryst Cup action tomorrow when they host Wythenshawe Amateurs.
In the Premier Division, Avro host a Prestwich Heys side who have just had their application to join the North-West Counties League next season accepted. Royton Town travel to Elton Vale.
