Non-league football: MOSSLEY’S mudlarks turned on the style in their Evo-Stik League Division One North Tameside derby crunch clash at Droylsden.
Despite the hosts’ Butchers Arms pitch being barely playable, the Lilywhites played much the better
football in a terrific 4-2 victory. Mossley were 3-0 up by half-time.
Recent capture Rio Ahmadi bagged his first two goals for the Lilywhites, while Sam Robinson made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Late in the game two goals from visitors Ben Deegan and Stephen Hall brought the score back to 3-2 with 10 minutes left, but Mossley sub Mike Fish wrapped up a well-deserved win with a superb fourth goal in the 87th minute.
Mossley remain in 10th place in the table despite their win - but now only six points behind fourth-placed Droylsden.
CHADDERTON’S eagerly-awaited FA Carlsberg Vase fourth-round clash at home against AFC Mansfield was postponed on Saturday morning due to a frozen pitch.
The two sides will try again at Broadway tomorrow night, with the match set to kick-off at 7.45pm.
OLDHAM BORO’S home North-West Counties League First Division clash against Eccleshall was also
postponed. Boro return to action on Saturday with a trip to Atherton LR.
