Cold comfort at Brookdale

GOLFERS wrapped up warm against the cold as local courses managed to complete a handful of competitions before the snow set in over the weekend.
At Brookdale, Pete Hampson, Micky Owens and Leon Ellis combined to win a three-man Stableford team event with 78 points.
In second place after a card play-off came the trio of John Bassey, Jimmy Butt and Roy Taylor on 75 points.
Keith Muir, Brian Storey and Phil Picken, also with 75 points, were third.
In ‘Karen’s Race To March 14 No.2’, victory went to Jeff Stansfield with 39 points, one ahead of Keith Miller.
