Rifle shot down by Turnbull treble

JACK Turnbull bagged a precious hat-trick as his Failsworth Athletic side sank Rifle ‘B’ 6-3 in the Midas Sunday League Challenge Cup third round.
David Caine scored twice, while Levi Morris completed Athletic’s tally. Twins Niall and Callum Standring replied for Rifle, as did Nathan Barker.
Mike King was also a treble hero as he helped Oldham GPO to a 5-2 win at Manchester Swifts.
Thomas Siwka and Ben Horsefield also pounced for the posties, while Joe Jackson and James Wilson replied.
Jonny Munson scored the only goal of the game as Rifle ‘A’ maintained their 100-per-cent record in the Jack Abbott Premier Division against Coppice United.
Westwood thumped Limeside King George 5-0 thanks to Mokhlisur Rahman (two), Asa Davies, Al Amin and Noor Islam.
In David Giblin Division One, Limeside Athletic beat Chaddy Cot 4-2 courtesy of strikes from Tom Evans (two), Stu Skibinski and Jordan Fitzpatrick. Mark Hearne and Mark Shaw replied for the Club.
Ash Ainsworth was the top individual scorer of the day as he bagged five goals in Horseshoe’s 7-3 Martin Buckley Division Two win against White House.
Nathan Mazaknkyo and Matty Hirst also scored for Horseshoe, while Danny Conner, Jordan Holt and Matt Bowyer responded for White House.
Ste Dobson (three), Mike Casson (two) and Leon Perry scored for Oddies 14 as they crushed Rochdale Rangers 6-0.
HUDDERSFIELD League outfit 3D Dynamos reserves beat Junction 5-0 in a friendly fixture.
On target were Andy Lees (two), Tom Milnes (two) and Danny Heywood.
AFC OLDHAM secured a morale-boosting Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division victory, edging out Moston Brook by the odd goal in three.
They moved up to seventh place in the table, but have no fixture scheduled this weekend.
In Division Three, Oldham Victoria were edged out 3-2 by visiting Castleton seconds.
The top two teams in Division ‘E’ both recorded 4-1 wins, with AFC Oldham fifths victorious at Salford Vics fifths and Signol Athletic seconds prevailing at local rivals Govan Athletic thirds.
FAILSWORTH Dynamos are up to third place in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division table thanks to a 4-1 home win against Castle Hill.
Dynamos’ reserve team were edged out 4-3 at local rivals Mostonians in Divison Two.
