In-form Town are upwardly mobile

ROYTON Town moved up to seventh place in the FBT Manchester League Premier Division table thanks to a thumping home win against AFC Monton.
Town cruised to victory against their mid-table rivals courtesy of strikes from Wayne Dean, Billy Dempsey, Mike Moss and David Manning.
Avro were sunk 4-1 at home by leaders Stockport Georgians.
Springhead were in Gilgryst Cup action at Wythenshawe Amateurs and returned home with an impressive 2-1 victory.
But Springhead’s second string were knocked out of the Open Trophy competition, 2-1 at Beechfield United.
Division One front runners Uppermill were in terrific form once again as they roared to a convincing 6-1 win at struggling Wilmslow Albion.
Jordan Stepien, Gerrard Forde and Merve Davies grabbed a brace apiece.
Chadderton’s second string were defeated 3-1 at home by Beechfield United, while Hollinwood slipped to a 5-2 home reverse at the hands of Pennington.
