TABLE TENNIS: UNISON ‘A’ and Hollinwood ‘B’, both pushing for honours in Division Two of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League, had mixed fortunes in the latest round of matches.
The former beat Honeywell ‘D’ 7-3 thanks to a good team performance as Mike Brierley, Alan Auxily and Andy Hey notched braces. Brian Higgins (two) and Pete Buckley replied.
In Grotton, Hollinwood ‘B’ suffered a 6-4 loss, despite Peadar McKinstry recording a treble and Dave Jefferson notching a single. On the mark for the hosts were Ryan Conway (two), Steve Oliver (two) and Dave Morris.
