Mellor’s perfect record as Nook claim title

NIMBLE Nook clinched the Inbev Winter Bowling League’s Division Two title with a 9-2 defeat of Barbarians. It was Nook’s 17th win from 18 fixtures.

Among their winners was Steve Mellor, who had a 100 per cent record in all his 16 games, which earned him the individual merit award for the division.

The Division One award went to Tom Eccles (Hopwood), who won all 16 of his matches.

Nook and Vixens will be playing in Division One next season after securing promotion, while Dogwood and Newton Heath head in the opposite direction.
