Town contingent on fire as Lancashire clinch victory

OLDHAM players were in charge as title-chasing Lancashire swept to victory against Essex in the Inter-Counties Championship.
Town team regulars Carl Sneyd, Dave Rawstron, Dave Adshead and Mark McGeeney struck as Lancs beat their hosts 22-14 at Chelmsford.
Playing for the ‘B’ team on the opening day, Rawstron won his match 4-3. He then switched to the ‘A’ side on day two and sealed victory by an identical scoreline thanks to a 13-dart finish in the seventh and deciding leg.
Also in action for the ‘B’ team was Sneyd, and he completed a 4-2 success.
Adshead (4-3) and England international McGeeney (4-2) were both victorious for the ‘A’ side, with latter being named man-of-the-match thanks to an average of 93 for every three darts thrown.
