Four-star show not enough for demanding Band

MOSSLEY joint-boss Peter Band has challenged his players to bounce back - from a 4-0 victory!
The Lilywhites eased into the Manchester Premier Cup final — where they will meet Tameside rivals Curzon Ashton – on Tuesday by convincinglay brushing aside Irlam.
But Band is seeking an improved effort on the side’s return to league action tomorrow against struggling Ossett Albion.
Band said: “The Irlam game was the worst we’d played all season. The result was a bit flattering because some of our players’ attitudes weren’t quite there. We’ll have to improve - especially any players who might be wanting a place in the team for the cup final.”
It’s about maintaining good momentum for Mossley now. They have won their last three games and are unbeaten in seven.
The team is still only 10th in the table, six points shy of the play-offs but with plenty of games in hand.
CHADDERTON will be looking for some rare ‘bouncebackability’ when they host Ashton Town in the North-West Counties League First Division.
Chaddy lost their first league fixture since September last weekend – 1-0 at Holker Old Boys – so will be keen to produce a positive response tomorrow when they welcome a Town side third-from-bottom in the table.
ROCK-bottom OLDHAM BORO face another huge task as they travel to third-placed Barnton.
