RUGBY:
AFTER again struggling to raise a side for the trip to Doncaster, Hollinwood were hammered 62-8 by lowly Moorends Thorne Marauders.
The visitors, with only 11 players, were no match for a side struggling at the bottom of Pennine League Division Five. It was the second week running on which they had conceded 62 points.
The players who made the trip were praised by club officials in a virtually impossible situation.
Hollinwood secretary Fred Halliwell fumed: “When the better players say they cannot be bothered to travel, you wonder if it’s worth the effort.
“The club needs more commitment from the other players to complete the three remaining fixtures.”
