RIO Ahmadi scored with just five minutes to go to give Mossley a 1-0 win at Warrington Town in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
Ahmadi’s late strike earned the Lilywhites an impressive maximum points against FA Cup heroes Town, though they remain ninth in the table - but only two points shy of the play-off places.
Mossley face a crunch fixture tomorrow when they host fellow play-off chasers Bamber Bridge (7.45pm kick-off). Bridge currently sit seventh in the standings, but a point better off.
Meanwhile, Mossley’s eagerly-anticipated Manchester Premier Cup final against Evo-Stik League neighbours Curzon Ashton will be at Athletic’s SportsDirect.com Park on April 22 (7.45pm).
CHADDERTON zoomed up to 12th place in the North-West Counties League First Division table thanks to a terrific 4-1 home victory against Daisy Hill.
Sean Sherwood and Niall Sultan fired the hosts into a 2-0 lead by the interval.
Jake Foster halved the deficit, before late strikes from Matty Russell and Dan Hudson wrapped up a big win for the hosts.
Chadderton are back in action tonight when they travel to Atherton Collieries (7.45pm).
OLDHAM BORO’s home fixture against Holker Old Boys was postponed due to a waterlogged Seel Park pitch. Boro travel to Ashton Town tomorrow night for their rescheduled Reusch First Division Cup quarter-final tie.
