Daubney at the double

GOLF: ALAN Daubney was in top form in two better-ball Stableford competitions at Oldham.
He joined brother Steve to score 47 points and win a card play-off against Paul Donlan and Dave Kendrick. Gary Lee and Dave Taylor were third with 45 points.
And he partnered Bob Barrington to score 43 points and scoop another pot. Peter Barrington and Steve Warburton (42) were runners-up.
Oldham were in winning form in the Manchester and District Golf Alliance’s Archie Preston Mixed Knock-out, beating Houghwood 5-2.
Winners for Oldham were captain Steve Mills and lady captain Chris Peirson (1 up), Phil Dockerty and Jane Antrobus (8 and 6), Mark Furnival and Lynn Kershaw (3 and 2), Owen Williams and Karen Phanco (2 up), and Steve Daubney and Mary Buckley (7 and 5).
