NETBALL: OLDHAM’S North-West Premier League coach Suzy Ashworth had plenty of options for the visit of LSA and her side didn’t disappoint in a resounding 64-25 win at Hathershaw College.
Amy Clinton was on fire for the hosts, scoring time and again to help her colleagues forge an early 16-9 lead. At the opposite end, Gemma McDermott, Rachael Taylor and Taylor Cullen created a solid defensive wall.
But Oldham weren’t as fluent in the second quarter, which they won by six goals for 26-13.
Ashworth and fellow coach Pam Hazelton made more changes for the third quarter. Apart from missing with her first attempt, Clinton was shot-perfect and the gap increased to 43-19.
The final quarter was all-Oldham, with 13 unanswered goals at one stage, with Clinton and Sarah Brennan in sparkling form. Oldham also managed 18 turnovers in a terrific show.
