FOOTBALL: JACOB Davies led the way with a five-goal haul as merciless Rifle ‘B’ crushed Royton Athletic 13-2 in the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League David Giblin Division One.
Completing Rifle’s immense tally were Nathan Barker (three), Dylan Ault, Tobias Hayes, Callum Standring, Niall Standring and Kieran Martin. Kelvin Stephenson scored both goals for stunned Athletic.
Fitton Hill beat Blue Club 1-0 in the Challenge Cup competition, while Coppice United needed just a solitary goal to see off Crown in the Premier Division Shield.
Daniel Fitzhugh, Ian Burns and Ashley Grant netted for Carrion Crow as they beat High Crompton Victoria 3-1 in the Division One Shield.
Farhad Choudhury and Asa Davies scored for Westwood in a 2-2 draw against Heyside, for whom Daniel Toft and Ricky Ollerton replied.
