Mossley urged to go again

MOSSLEY joint-boss Peter Band has challenged his players to start afresh after their long unbeaten run came to an end in midweek.

The Lilywhites went into Tuesday’s Evo-Stik League Division One North clash with play-off chasing rivals Bamber Bridge on the back of an 11-game run. But Bridge won 1-0 at Seel Park.

Tomorrow Band’s men host struggling Prescot Cables in a game that should provide a decent opportunity to return to winning ways.

Band said: “We’ve had a great run and the lads deserve plenty of credit. They’re running on empty at the moment. We’re still in the hunt for the play-offs.

“Ms and Lloyd (Morrison) have been proud of the players. They’ve given us everything.

CHADDERTON will be desperate to bounce back from midweek disappointment when they host fifth-placed Holker Old Boys in the North-West Counties League First Division. Chaddy were thumped 5-1 at Atherton Collieries on Monday.

OLDHAM BORO joint-managers Tony Mills and Mike Lester will also be chasing a response to a midweek reverse when they travel to fourth-placed Hanley Town. Boro were knocked out of the Reusch First Division Cup at Ashton Town on Tuesday.
