Owls off the mark

LACROSSE:
OLDHAM Owls lacrosse team enjoyed their first victory of the season when they hit back from an early deficit to register a 15-11 success against Timperley ‘B’.
Owls trailed 3-0 after the first quarter, but two goals from Boomer and one each from Randall and Beaumont reduced the deficit to 6-4 at the halfway stage. Jordon, Clark and Adams were working together well as Owls withstood some strong pressure.
The tide turned completely in the third quarter, Owls leading 10-9 by the end of it thanks to four more goals from Randall and one each from Boomer and Beaumont.
Player-of-the-match Fenton repeatedly won the face-offs, while Stephinson-Kirkbride produced a telling run and pass for the 10th Owls goal.
Owls completed their victory with goals from Randall, Boomer (two), Beaumont and Kenyon.
