SADDLEWORTH Rangers coach Craig Farrimond has offered no excuses for his team’s disappointing start to the National Conference League Division One campaign.
The Shaw Hall Bank Road outfit was confident of making a big impact in the division, but Rangers have lost both league matches so far.
Former Oldham, Rochdale and Swinton prop Farrimond said: “It hasn’t been the start to the season we expected, but I won’t make any excuses for it. We have missed one or two people due to injuries and unavailability, but we’ve have other lads to cover. We just can’t be giving teams 20 points start like we did against Rose Bridge.
“Maybe there has been a bit of complacency in the camp. Some players may be guily of being a little over-confident perhaps. But that won’t be carrying on. I’ve already given the lads a rocket. I blasted them at half-time on Saturday and we improved.”
Rangers have no game this weekend due to scheduled opponents Normanton Knights’ continued Challenge Cup involvement. They are next in action on Saturday week when Shaw Cross Sharks arrive at Shaw Hall Bank Road.
HOLLINWOOD’S hopes of ending their Pennine League Division Five campaign with a win were scuppered when scheduled opponents Guiseley pulled out of the fixture due to a long injury list.
Hollinwood members were left disappointed after Guiseley’s refusal to travel.
