Defeat ends third-place hopes

HOCKEY: OLDHAM Ladies Hockey Club firsts had to settle for fifth spot in Division Two South-West of the North Manchester Women’s League.
The team hoped for third place, but a 3-2 loss at Wilmslow in their last game of the season scuppered those ambitions.
Meanwhile, the club’s second string put in an excellent performance to draw 3-3 against Didsbury Northern thirds.
