MICK Slicker junior reckons it won’t be long before results starting picking up for his Waterhead Warriors side.
The Peach Road club has toiled this season, with three defeats in three games. Tomorrow they play fellow strugglers Wibsey Warriors at home. Slicker said: “It’s not about chasing results, it’s about getting the club back on side and building something. Though a win seems 100 miles away at the moment, I’m sure we’ll turn the corner soon.”
Dave Orwell has played a lead role in training recently as he recovers from shoulder reconstruction surgery.
Praising the sidelined prop’s impact, Slicker said: “The lads have a lot of respect for him and know what he is about. He deserves a lot of credit.”
BEATEN Standard Cup finalists Saddleworth Rangers hit the road in NCL Division One tomorrow.
Craig Farrimond’s men, who are also without a league victory in three attempts, head to East Yorkshire to face ninth-placed Skirlaugh.
OLDHAM St Anne’s have a blank weekend in Division Two of the NCL.
