Longmore fires Uppermill to promotion

FOOTBALL: UPPERMILL have gained promotion to the top flight of the FBT Manchester League following a cracking Division One campaign.
They sealed their elevation with another impressive win, 3-2 at local rivals Chadderton. Joel Longmore (two) and Gerard Forde were on the mark.
In the Gilgryst Cup semi-final, Royton Town edged out Dukinfield Town 3-2 in a thriller which went to extra-time. Billy Dempsey (two) and Jake Coe scored for Royton. They will now meet Avro in the final after winning 2-1 at Springhead in the other last-four tie.
Avro followed up their cup success with a 1-0 home Premier Division defeat at the hands of Walshaw Sports in midweek.
