Non-league football: MOSSLEY closed their home Evo-Stik League Division One North campaign in style with a 4-1 thumping of Clitheroe at sun-drenched Seel Park.
The Lilywhites impressed throughout as they shook off the disappointment of missing out on the play-offs.
The hosts were 3-1 up at the interval following goals from Tom Pratt, Andy Keogh and Mike Fish.
Ross Dent struck back for Clitheroe. Rio Ahmadi bagged a match-clinching fourth goal shortly after the restart.
The Lilywhites head to SportsDirect.com Park on Wednesday for their eagerly-anticipated Manchester County FA Premier Cup final against Curzon Ashton, before then wrapping up their season on Saturday when they travel to Ossett Albion.
CHADDERTON’S hopes of reaching the North-West Counties League First Division play-offs still hang in the balance following a potentially damaging 2-1 defeat at Litherland. Liam Wood scored a consolation goal for Chaddy after Daniel Duffy and Lois Austin had netted for Litherland.
OLDHAM BORO didn’t have a weekend fixture.
Chaddy travel to Cheadle Town tomorrow (7.45pm), the same night Boro host Holker Old Boys.
It’s derby day at Seel Park on Thursday evening as Boro host Chadderton in a rescheduled fixture.
