ASHLEY Beech fights his way through the field
MOTORCYCLE RACING: ASHLEY Beech’s hopes of finishing among the front-runners in the National Superstock Championship have been hit by a setback.
The Moorside star is facing at least four weeks on the sidelines after breaking a bone in his hand and two in his foot. Beech came off in round two of the series at Brands Hatch — the same venue at which he was involved in a serious crash 12 months ago.
On lap 10, he high-sided at Clearways, throwing him up over the handle bars and landing heavily in the gravel.
Beech had been boxed in at the first corner and dropped to 12th place at the end of the first lap, but was fight his was way back when disaster struck at half distance.
He will almost certainly miss round three at Oulton Park in two weeks, but hasn’t given up hope of racing at Donington at the end of May.
