CRICKET: STEVE Bird, a well-known face in Saddleworth and District Cricket League circles, is to sponsor the competition for two years through his vehicle repair firm, SWB Commercials.
The 35 year old is captain of Stayley and made a perfect start to the new season with a 47-run win over Uppermill.
