Heyside book final date with unbeaten Rifle

FOOTBALL: RIFLE ‘A’ and Heyside are to meet in the final of the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League’s Challenge Cup after both cruised through their semi-final matches.
Luke Butler (two), Lee Mallitt and Nathan Eastmond netted for Rifle as they saw off Failsworth Athletic 4-1. Jamie Marsland replied.
Heyside defeated Carrion Crow 4-0 thanks to a Rick Ollerton hat-trick and Carl Caffrey’s strike.
In the Jack Abbott Premier Division Shield semi-final, Fitton Hill defeated Coppice United 4-2 thanks to Callum Franklin’s treble and a further effort from Aaron Murdoch. Yassar Farooq scored both goals for Coppice.
Limeside Athletic made it through to the David Giblin Division One Shield final courtesy of a 2-0 win against Rifle ‘B’. Thomas Evans and Dave Shaw scored.
In the Martin Buckley Division Two Shield quarter-final, Manchester Swifts edged out Streetbridge 3-2 thanks to goals from Kyle Boland, Joe Jackson and Danny Allott.
Horseshoe beat Blue Club 4-0 in the Division Two Shield semi-final.
There were goals galore in Martin Buckley Division Two.
Legends Of Lees marched to a 10-0 victory at home against Rochdale Rangers thanks to goals from Leighton Stephenson (three), Gaz Armstead (three), Paul Badby (two), David Hodgkins and Adam Monks.
Steve Barrow (three), Michaal Grady (two) and Callum Barrow scored for Alt Athletic in a 6-2 win against Oldham XI.
