DELPH endured a mixed weekend in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.
Saturday’s rain-interrupted clash at Shepley saw the visitors set a revised target of 133 after the hosts scored 175 for five.
Delph had reached 107 for three in reply — with skipper Arron Lilley adding 54 — when further rain curtailed proceedings. It meant Delph had to settle for a single point.
Yesterday brought a fine victory as Delph hosted Slaithwaite. Replying to the visitors’ 255 for six, Delph rattled up 256 for five largely thanks to Greg Buckley’s 67 and 16-year-old Nathan Jones hitting 43 not out.
WOODHOUSES suffered a disastrous start to their Greene King Lancashire County League campaign.
Inserted at Denton West after losing the toss, Woodhouses were skittled for a miserable 40.
The Windsor Park outfit cruised to victory in reply, losing just two wickets.
