MARTIAL ARTS: SHAW SKF Karate Club scooped 11 medals at the annual Shukokai Karate Federation (SKF) National Championships in Oldbury, West Midlands.
The club had 13 competitors covering individual and team sections and the group was in top form, winning five gold, two silver, two bronze and two silvers for both adult teams.
In action for Shaw were Levi Taylor, Mariah Ali, Saif Ali, Luke Walster, Bethanie Jardine, Carrie Garner, Pauline Jardine, Aaron Walster, Alex Nealon, Daniel Williamson, Toni Sweetman, Andrew Hall and Ben Walster.
Sensei Keith Cockburn was delighted and proud of the club’s achievements.
Luke Walster also impressed the SKF world chief instructor and was awarded the SKF Shield for ‘most outstanding cadet’ award.
