Werneth members boost charity

GOLF: MARIANNE Pickford won the women’s charity day at Werneth, which raised £400 for Cancer Research UK.
She registered 35 points to claim top honours from runner-up Pat Grant (33pts).
Iris Last received the charity cheque on behalf of Chadderton and Oldham committee for Cancer Research UK. The money will go to professor Richard Marais’ research into melanoma.
The prizes on the day were donated by David and Joyce Beilby.
DEFENDING champion Margaret Butterworth tees off at 10.30am as she looks to repeat her women’s Chronicle Cup success next Wednesday.
