DELPH’S Andy Kremner is delighted to be heading back to the scene of his best performance so far in the professional boxing ranks, writes Simon Smedley.

The 22-year-old welterweight prospect, who trains under the guidance of John Murray at his ‘Murray Machines’ gym in Stockport, will bid to make it five wins from five fights in the paid ranks at the Victoria Warehouse in Old Trafford on June 20.

Last time out, in March, ‘Krem de la Krem’ cruised to a convincing points victory against Kristian Laight after dominating all four rounds.

Kremner said: “I’m really pleased to be going back to the Victoria Warehouse. It’s a great venue and I put in a really good performance there last time.

“It was the best of my professional career.

“It would be nice to secure back-to-back wins there – in fact I’d like to make it a bit of a fortress.”

Kremner still doesn’t know yet who he’ll be fighting on the VIP Promotions show on June 20, but he’s hoping to progress from a four to a six-round contest.

“My trainer John has said I could do with a bit of a step up, both in rounds and in class of opponent to be honest,” Kremner added.

“My pro career is going exactly to plan right now, but I’m hoping that by early next year I might be able to start thinking about a possible area title shot.

“They are always 10-round fights so I need to be working my way up towards that kind of level before too long.”
