Eileen Simpson receives the cup from the Chronicle's David Whaley

EILEEN Simpson made home advantage count when she shot an 8-under par nett 63 to win the ladies Chronicle Cup by three shots at Saddleworth yesterday.

That eclipsed the 81-16-66 of Oldham’s Jane Antrobus, whose score stood for a long time as the early clubhouse leader. Eileen, who plays off a handicap of 21, received the trophy from Chronicle managing Editor David Whaley.
