’Wood celebrate with Pennine League

HOLLINWOOD ARLFC’s commitment has been recognised at the Pennine Amateur League presentation evening.
The Fields New Road club was honoured with the team of the year award at the ceremony in Bradford.
Secretary Fred Halliwell collected the trophy from Pennine League president Stuart Brown. Hollinwood is the only Lancashire-based club still in the competition.
On the same night referee Andy Mellor was saluted for 30 years of unwavering service with a special award from the Oldham Amateur League. He blew the whistle on his three-decade career at the end of last season.
Mellor received a momento from Anita Halliwell, vice-chairperson of the Oldham league.
