FORMER Oldham Cricket Club stalwart Harry Hall has died at the age of 80.
The hard-hitting batsman lived in Oldham and had a long association with the Pollards club, plus a shorter link with Greenfield CC.
Mr Hall, the father of two sons and a daughter, played football for Middleton Amateurs before taking up cricket, first for St Matthews. He joined Oldham for whom he was a regular in the CLL from the 1956 season.
A two-year spell in the Saddleworth League with Greenfield followed, but he returned to Oldham.
Mr Hall was also a keen crown green bowled and played for Copster Park in the Oldham Veterans’ League. The date and venue for Mr Hall’s funeral have yet to be fixed.
