SNOOKER:
MOORSIDE star Michael Wild will take part in his first tournament on the World Professional Tour early next month.
Wild, recent winner of the European Open in Prague to book his pro ticket, will compete in the qualifying rounds for the Shanghai Open at the Barnsley Dome on Wednesday, August 5.
His first round opponent is Stoke’s Liam Highfield, ranked world 67th. If successful, Wild will play Iceland’s Robin Hull in round two.
As the Shanghai Masters is a 16-strong competition, Wild needs to win four qualifying rounds to book a place in the main event.
