Farrimond calls for pride from Rangers

RUGBY: CRAIG Farrimond is calling on his Saddleworth Rangers charges to “play for the badge” in tomorrow’s Kingstone Press National Conference League clash at Pilkington Recs.
The Rangers coach gave a rollicking to his side after a 50-0 drubbing at Shaw Cross Sharks.
“There were no excuses for that performance,” said Farrimod, who has to contend with a string of absentees for the visit to St Helens.
Pilkington are gunning for the Division One title, two points leaders Kells. Six days ago they put 72 points on the board against Skirlaugh.
FINGERS crossed, Oldham St Anne’s will return to action tomorrow. Millom host Mick Worrall’s men, who have seen their last three NCL Division Two games called off. The latest was last week’s home game against Castleford Patners.
They were due to meet the Cumbrians away on August 1, only for the game to be rearranged for seven days later as Saints were unable to raise a team.
That match, too, did not go ahead because Saints were unable to field a competitive side.
