THE curtain came down on the Lake Garage Central Lancashire League after 123 years yesterday with bowlers taking most of the applause.
In the Premier Division, Royton’s miserable campaign ended with another defeat, this time at Walsden.
Deputy professional Paul Horton scored 60 for Royton as they took first knock and scored 152 for eight.
But Walsden sailed to victory in reply, losing one wicket as Jake Hooson smashed 107 not out.
The Championship’s bottom side, Oldham, bagged only their third win of the season as they saw off derby rivals Werneth by 34 runs at the Pollards.
Second-bottom Werneth must have fancied their chances of pocketing only their fifth win of the term, but they crumbled to just 85 all out as Mudassar Butt took six for 33.
