Dovestone celebrate summer of success

POLES APART . . . Ian Jones and Jon Emmett enjoyed success on the European stage.

SAILING: 

DOVESTONE Sailing Club members have enjoyed a glorious summer, picking up prizes throughout Europe.

In France, Rod Rowlands and Dave Naylor won the Flying Fifteen French Nationals, while John Clarke and Mick Scholes took a great gold in the Worlds. Dovestone’s success carried on in Poland, as Ian Jones won gold in the Laser Masters European Championships.

Closer to home, the club’s Flying Fifteen sailors made history at the Windermere Northerns. Hosts Royal Windermere Yacht Club had dominated the event for all of its 30 years, but Dovestone ended that monopoly.
